I71, as it's commonly called, was approved by 64.87% of voters on the 4th of November, 2014, and it went into full effect on the 26th of February, 2015.
The I71 laws allow D.C. persons over the age of 21 to possess up to two ounces of marijuana, grow up to three mature & three immature marijuana plants in their homes, and transfer up to one ounce of marijuana to another individual. Also, I71 does not support the sale of weed. Weed cannot be sold to buyers but only gifted alongside the purchase of other items.
